My Day at the Zoo

World Class St Louis Zoo

St Louis Zoo is one of the very few Zoos left in this country that is totally free to the public and is a World Class Zoo. There are lots of things to do and see in the St. Louise Zoo. The 90 acre zoo is full of animal exhibitions, shopping, dining and amusements for everyone of the family. Even there are amazing activities and programmes the zoo authorities conduct for people of every age and capacity. You will never be bored in the St. Louise Zoo. Even it is a favourite place in the winter. The buildings are weather controlled. Children can enjoy the herbal life of winter and animal lives too. Check out the various zones of the zoo. They are quite amusing and funny.

The River’s edge zone

Well in this zone the animals that tend to live near to river belts are in exhibit. Check out the black rhinos, big Asian elephants, hyenas, cheetahs, bush dogs, river hogs, hippos, capybaras, sun bear, Andean bears and many more. You can see all of them and many more there. Quite a fascinating view

The Wild Zone

In the Wild zone you can find animals that like to roam around in comparatively wild part of any forest. Grizzly bears, flamingos in seasons, orangutans, chimpanzees, gorillas, prairie dogs, polar bears and many more can be found in this section of the zoo.

The discovery corner

In this part of St. Louise Zoo, children come across various insects. They can even get a thorough knowledge about their life cycle too. Generally children get more excited when it comes about this section. The beautiful butterflies, fennec foxes, guinea pigs, tree kangaroos, meerkats, alpacas are the main attraction of this Monsanto Insectarium.

The Red Rock Zone

Children come across varieties of animals from Africa, Australia, and India. The animals that are in exhibit in this section are the big cats like jaguars, pumas, leopards, tigers, lions and animals like red kangaroos, zebras, gazelles, babirusas, wild asses from Somalia, warty pigs, takins, giraffes, and many more. In fact children get tired of counting.

The Historic Hill Zone

Which child doesn’t love birds? Well the St. Louise Zoo has got a big and very beautiful Bird house with Bird gardens, Chain of lakes, Primate Garden, Herpetarium and a Peabody hall with a great view of the birds. There are also lemurs and monkeys can be found in this section like other amphibians, reptiles. And did we mention that the St Louis Zoo is one of the few Zoo’s in the United States that is Free.

The Lakeside Crossing Zone:

Well a zoo is incomplete without an amusement park and refreshments. To enjoy the fullest you definitely need to visit this zone. The amusing Sea Lions and Stingrays from Caribbean Cove will amuse in various seasons in the poolside. You can buy souvenirs and enjoy delicious meal there with your family.
